Idlebrain gave 3 out of 5 and mentioned "Babu Bangaram is aimed at being an all-round entertainer where there is something for everybody. Hence the director has filled the film with entertainment threads with Pruthvi dominating first half and Posani doing his bit in second half. It’s high time for big heroes to stay away from subjects in which they make villains bakras in second half. In spite of formulaic treatment, Maruthi has generated enough laughs. On a whole, Babu Bangaram is a commercial entertainer with some box office potential"
Telugu360 gave the rating of 2.75 out of 5 and mentioned "Director Maruthi missed his opportunity to make it to big league. ‘Babu Bangaram’ is a kind of movie which you won’t regret either watching or skipping. At the box-office, movie can be a success in the B & C centers and will possibly generate a decent revenue in the A centers with the long weekend, catchy title and Victory Venkatesh’s image. In overseas, prospects of this movie are relatively grim. If you don’t mind a template comedy, watch it."
Chitramala gave the rating of 2.5 out of 5 and stated " Director Maruthi has done a mediocre job in terms of script and tried his best to show Venkatesh in a new way and he is succeeded to a good level. He tried his best to inject comedy wherever possible and has used Prudhvi, Vennela Kishore and Posani Krishna Murali and Brahmanandam. To sumup, this Venkatesh starrer in the direction of Maruthi has nothing much to offer"
The Hindu gave the rating of 2.5 out of 5 and stated " Babu Bangaram shows how a film can fall flat if it banks only on a quirky character trait and doesn’t bother with a reasonably good plot or a coherent narration. The ‘ayyo ayyo…’ line lingers, because it’s apt to describe the experience of watching the film."
Great Andhra gave the rating of 2 out of 5 and mentioned " All in all, "Babu Bangaram" as the title says Venkatesh may be gold but the film isn't . Except for Venky's histrionics and Prudhvi's comedy, the movie completely turns bore."
AP Herald gave 2 out of 5 and mentioned "The movie is Below-average and it is no where near 'BBM'. Maruthi has clearly failed to ride on his success. Comedy scenes are pretty ordinary and weak screenplay pulls the movie down even more. Technical wise, Cinematography and Background score alone saves the movie. This is definitely not the come back Venkatesh would have anticipated. The movie might have a decent run considering the long weekend. "
Babu Bangaram is getting mixed reviews from audience also. Let's see how it perform at the box office.
